Yes! It's Christmas in July at my house. My first order from the new July-December Mini Catalog was delivered last week, and after looking at each one of the beautiful packs of Designer Series Paper, I went straight for the Whimsy & Wonder Suite. The paper was so beautiful that I didn't want to cut into it, hence the first card I made took me forever because I was trying NOT to use any of the paper!

Did I die cut and glue each one of those ornaments on that tree? Yes, very carefully - just like I decorate my own tree. There isn't a stamp for that particular tree so I die cut it using a piece of the DSP.
Next, I stamped the fringe tree and used another stamp to "decorate" it with pink ornaments. The Whimsy & Wonder Speciality Designer Series Paper has silver foil mingled in throughout the designs. The packages I cut from a sheet of the paper and placed under the tree are all touched with silver foil, but you can't really tell that by the photo. That paper was so beautiful that I didn't want to cut into any of the packages, so I just cut each one out - another time consuming task, but worth it!

By the third card, I was over not using the beautiful paper. I used a greeting from another new stamp set from the mini catalog called Encircled In Warmth. I loved using the big greeting with the paper and I used Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain ribbon that was part of the Suite.

I wanted to try out another one of the dies that came in this bundle that didn't have a stamp to go with it, so I used a piece of Mint Macron card stock and another pattern of the beautiful of the DSP.

The cards just get more beautiful as they go, don't they? I love, love, love the little word "Joy" at Christmas. I have several decorative Joy pieces that I use every year around the holidays and some remain a part of my decor all year round. So, as you can see, I was tickled with the Joy stamp that is part of this suite. I found the perfect little die from Stitched So Sweetly to crop the Joy out with. It will be used a bunch this holiday season, and I was so glad it had not retired.
I tried a fun fold for my last card. I also discovered something that wasn't mentioned in the catalog. There is a stamp of holly leaves and berries that you can stamp and color, so I tried it out to use on the flap of this fun fold. I didn't like the way my coloring or water coloring turned out after THREE tries, so I gave up on that notion. Just as I was about to settle for another decoration, I noticed one of the DSP patterns had a similar holly and berry design. So, I tried using the die that was meant for the stamp, and it worked just fine for me!

Please know that these pictures don't show how beautiful the silver foil is used throughout the paper, but you can check out the replay of my Facebook Live over on my page at Just Paper, LLC. There I go through everything I received in my first order and I'm pretty sure you can see the paper much better.
Thanks for reading my blog today, and I hope you are as excited as I was about this beautiful suite of products in the July - December Mini Catalog of 2021. If you visit my Facebook page at Just Paper LLC, please give me a "like."
Take care,
Kim Webb
