Stampin' Up a Storm!

A friend of mine gave me an industrial size roll of kraft paper a while back, and I thought I would pair it with pretty ribbon and use it for Christmas this year. I love to wrap and usually go all out with a theme for my paper and ribbon that goes well with my tree decor for the year. Well, after I wrapped my first gift, I just couldn't handle how plain it looked, so I got to stamping!
Here I used the Poinsettia Petals stamp set with Real Red ink for the Poinsettias, Soft Suede for the berries, and Whisper White Craft for the greetings. I loved it! The more I stamped, the more I wanted to stamp. Seriously, it's like I just felt so free stamping on this large surface. I couldn't wait to stamp my next one.
I went with a more masculine look for this gift for my brother-in-law. I used the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Garden Green ink with Soft Suede ink for the pine cones. I learned quickly the best method to go about this task was to measure my paper to the package then bring the paper to my craft table where I keep a pad of Stampin' Up! Grid Paper on my work surface. This made the perfect stamping surface for the big sheets of paper.
I went for the Snowman Season stamp set for my next gift and I loved mixing the Memento Black hat in with the Whisper White Craft and Real Red ink. The tags were fun and easy to make too using card stock and coordinating DSP. I have never been a very good "random stamper," but by the time I got around to my fourth gift, I was getting better!
I added Memento Black refill ink to my pad before stamping this one and wish I wouldn't have. It made my Distinctive stamped tree not turn out so good, but I loved the greetings in the Perfectly Plaid stamp set go to along with the trees.
I hope you get some stamping inspiration from my packages and give stamping on large surfaces like packages a try. It really was good for my soul.

Kim, Love your idea of using the brown paper. I did some small items along time ago. I loved the white ribbon that you stamped the Christmas tree. No sure how much you did, but it must have taken a lot of time. I would only do this for someone I know that would really appreciate the thought. Some people just don't care. They don't realize how much time you put into it. Its the same way with cards. Only certain people get my cards as I put lots of love and time when I make them and hopefully, they will enjoy and appreciate them. GREAT JOB! Merry Christmas to you and your family !

Oh my gosh! I don't think I've ever seen SU demonstrators use stamps on wrapping paper. You are a genius Kim Webb! It is so incredibly beautiful. The bows match too. I shouldn't be surprised. I've known for a long time how talented you are. People aren't going to want to open their packages from you cause they're so pretty. Thank you for sharing! Now I want to go out and buy kraft paper.
