SEPTEMBER 2021 PALS BLOG HOP

Writer's picture: Kim WebbKim Webb

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Sentiment as a focal point.” We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I have several reasons why Thinking of You is my all-time favorite sentiment, but the main reason is because it can be used in so many situations when wanting to send a card. I try to keep some of these made up in stock, and when I need a card quickly, I go to this stash and personalize the inside to fit the situation. A good friend recently asked me to gift her my hand made cards for her birthday, and she requested "Thinking of you" and "Happy Birthday," so I went to work on a special set just for her. Here is one of the cards in her gift.

I purchased a pack of In The Wild Designer Series Paper when the new annual catalog was published, because I have a neighbor who is animal print crazy. I ended up passing on the stamps and dies that went with the paper in lieu of other sets that trumped the wild animal set. I have found many good alternative uses for the paper though, with this being one of them! I loved using the DSP from In The Wild with the Plentiful Plants Bundle. The Very Vanilla thick card stock made a great base to showcase the Very Vanilla colors in the blooms. I used a scalloped die from the Color and Contour bundle and a piece of Very Vanilla card stock for a perfect backdrop to house the Plentiful Plants die cut images. I used dies to cut the pot and the plant straight out of the Bloom Where You're Planted Designer Series Paper. I love it when Stampin' Up! makes that happen with the DSP. I used a sponge dauber with Cinnamon Cider ink to go around the edge of the pot to give it some depth. The sentiment I used has been one of my favorites in the Thinking of You lineup since it first emerged. It came from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and is still available to order. Here are more cards I made using the same DSP and images from the Plentiful Plants bundle.

As you can see, I used Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent card stock to layer all of the cards. Thanks for hopping by and hope you enjoy all of the Pals creations.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 13th. Our theme will be Fantastic Fun Folds and 3D Projects when participants showcase fun fold cards or 3D items that will be great for any occasion. Until then, have fun in your craft space.
