When I first saw the Be Dazzling specialty paper in the Free SAB Catalog, I said, "Nah, I don't want any of that." If you've seen one glitter paper, you've seen them all, right? Wrong! My sweet neighbor, friend and teammate, Lisa, showed up with her first haul from the new July-December Mini Catalog and SAB freebies and changed my outlook on glitter paper forever. The Be Dazzling specialty paper is course and has a silver and gold tone at the same time. It's just beautiful and you can't see how beautiful until you lay eyes on it in person. I heard one demonstrator say that it was too tough to die cut, and that may be one of the reasons my mind said, "You don't want any." After I saw it though, my mind said, "You do want some Kim!" I thought if our dies can't cut it, I will find something to use it on, so, I did.
Not only did I use it on this card, I also cut the center and the little things near the leaves with it. What are those things called? Anyway, I didn't notice that it was difficult to cut using my Stampin' Up Cutter or using my Stampin' Up dies, so I'm definitely glad I chose it as one of my freebies.
The DSP I used for this card is from the In Good Taste pack. I love, love, love that paper. I was so happy to see it return this year.
I had an in-person beginners class this past weekend and I introduced them to sponging with our sponge daubers. We brought a die cut pumpkin from the Pretty Pumpkins bundle to life with our little bit of sponging around the edges.
The sponging reminded me of a Poinsettia card I made last year where I received the biggest compliment of my 2 year career of card making...my upline said, "This is the prettiest version of the Poinsettia Petals cards I have seen yet." Yep! She sure said that, and it really inspired me to keep going. Here's the card she made that comment on.
I realize it is very similar to my current card, but that's ok, I still love it. Have you ever seen one of your cards on Pinterest and said, "Oh, I love that! Hey wait a minute, that's like my design. Oh wait, that is my card."? Well, I have experienced that, and it was a good feeling to see someone liked my design.
Speaking of that, I sold my first card kits ever this past week! I was absolutely thrilled and felt like shouting out loud, "OMG! I sold something! Someone liked my designs!" I have been a demonstrator 2 years and 7 months and have had a website for 1 year and 1 month. I was just about to cancel my website and go back to being a hobby demonstrator, but something just wouldn't let me give up yet. I'm so thankful I was able to experience the thrill of receiving that little notification from WIX, "Someone has made a purchase from your website." Now, all I can think about when I'm making a new card is, Should I do a kit for this, or maybe I should do a video?!
