I love learning new fun folds and today's card was one for the notebook! The notebook is a little journal I keep near my crafting table to jot down notes as I happen upon a new technique or tip, and in this case, a new fun fold. This card uses a 4" x 12" piece of Designer Series Paper, so you can actually get 3 cards from one piece of 12" x 12" DSP. I don't know about you, but I find at the end of a season (as in the Christmas season), I have lots of DSP left over from where I've tried not to use "all of that pretty paper!" It's a shame to let it go to waste or to save it until next season because there will always be new pretty paper that takes the cake over last season's paper! It took me a while to be able to say that to myself and actually start using all of the pretty paper at my disposal!

The thing I liked best about this fun fold card was that it looked like one solid front decorated with a "belly band," but it's nothing like that. If you look at the progression of me opening the card in the steps below, you'll see that the "belly band" is a figment of your imagination lol. The card actually opens right where that band is.
It's a little tricky figuring out how big to cut the pieces of the "belly band" because you have to take in to account the size of your ribbon, but once you see how it's put together, it all makes sense. It took me a few minutes to put the steps into words so that I could understand what I was saying when I resorted back to this design. A couple of days later I tried it again using just my instructions to make sure it was crystal clear because I plan to offer an in-person class featuring this design when the new 2022 January-June Mini Catalog launches. Here was my second card using this design.
Oh my! I'm so excited about the free Sale-a-bration items that will be offered with the new mini catalog launch! Just wait and see how fabulous it is this time!
If you're in the market to make a couple more Christmas cards before you start dropping them in the mail, check out the new pocket card kits I just added to my store. Card kits are a fast and easy way to knock out 6 more cards for your list.
Well, that's all for now so thanks for checking out my blog and happy crafting!
