Life is Short, Use the Paper!

I recently discovered a small stash of the beautiful Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper that I hoarded last year (actually, it was bigger than a small stash). I was tickled pink to find this gem among my stored items from last Christmas, so I set out to hoard no more and created a few cards.

The first one was a clean and simple card using Thick Very Vanilla card stock for my base and layering with Night of Navy and Very Vanilla regular card stock. I used the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder on the Copper Foil paper and punched out some ornaments using the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack from the hoarded DSP I mentioned earlier. I found the Ornamental Envelopes stamp set worked beautifully to "hang" the ornaments from.

This DSP has lots of copper foil accents and it's just a beautiful sight with the Hammered Metal Copper Foil paper. Man oh man, how did I manage to NOT use this beautiful foil paper last year? I even had the copper star embellishments left over.

Every sheet of this paper is beautiful and while I love the foil accent sheets, I think my favorite paper in the pack is the Pretty Peacock and Very Vanilla piece.

Seriously, about hoarding, I can honestly say that I try very hard these days not to hoard our beautiful Designer Series Paper. The whole point of making cards is to share something beautiful with someone special, and they deserve to receive that beautiful paper far more than I deserve to leave it on my shelf to admire or packed away in a box somewhere waiting for another season.

You still have time to order the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper, or get the bundle and save. Don't forget the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder for only $9, a great value! This paper also has pieces that can be used year round.

Remember, life really is short, so use the paper!

Take care!

Stunning! You are so creative. I'm surprised you are not on several design teams for other companies.

Kim, using the Hammered Metal embossing folder for the ornaments is very clever and really makes these gorgeous cards. The Brightly Gleaming paper is so beautiful and like you say each piece is beautiful. I need to heed your advice and use more of my paper stash. I'll have to say that I do admire it more than I use it. Maybe that is a New Year's resolution to use more DSP! We'll see. Love these gorgeous cards.
