Hearts For Any Occassion

Writer's picture: Kim WebbKim Webb

When I purchased the Love and Happiness Bundle, I knew I'd be using it for much more than just Valentine's Day cards. I love hearts, and I use them often in my card making. I think they are the perfect touch for Thinking of You, Congratulations, Happy Anniversary, Happy Engagement, Happy Wedding - a long list. The sentiments in the Love and Happiness stamp set solidify my thoughts as they include almost all of the above and more.

This bundle includes a Bouquet of Love hybrid embossing folder that allows you to insert a heart shaped die and emboss the heart, cut it out, and emboss the rest of the card stock all in one pass! You end up with a great focal piece in the embossed heart and a beautiful card front in the embossed negative piece from the heart. It's a great way to make two cards at one sitting - quickly.

For the purple card, I used the Heart and Home DSP for the backdrop of the negative heart space, and Fresh Freesia card stock. I stamped a very cool "You're on my mind and in my heart" sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set on the inside of my card. A word to the wise, either that stamp is cut very crooked or my label makes it look very crooked. I ended up stamping it again on a scrap piece of card stock, die cutting it using a shape from the Stitched So Sweetly dies, and pasted it right over the crooked image I stamped. If you don't have those dies, I highly suggest you get them before they retire. I use them. All. The. Time.

I used the embossed Fresh Freesia heart with black and white DSP (free paper from one of the Sale-abration events we had) to make my second card. I stamped the Wedding Wishes sentiment from the Love & Happiness bundle and die cut it using a shape from the Colors and Contours bundle.

Both cards were super simple and only took a few minutes to create. I love it when that happens.

Thanks for reading my blog today. If you leave a comment, please leave your email address because I would love to gift someone who comments a pack of the black and white DSP used here. I'll send out an email to the winner of the DSP on March 18, 2022.

Take care and happy crafting!
