COVID Induced Fun Fold Card

Today I was scrolling on Facebook and stumbled across UK Demonstrator Claire Ottaway

filming a video of a fun fold card. When I heard her say, "uses quite a bit of Designer Series Paper," my ears perked up, and I paid attention. Why? Because I have a lot of DSP due to stinking COVID causing 2 of my Christmas card classes to cancel. Here's one of the cards I made from watching her video.

This card uses coordinating DSP on each panel of the outside and 2 panels of the inside of the card. It's finished off with a belly band that is great for showcasing not only a greeting but an image as well.

It was hard for me to use this side of the DSP for the inside of the card because on the other side is full Poinsettia flowers that can be cut with a coordinating die that came with the bundle. You'll see an example of that flower cropped on the belly band of the next card.

I decided to switch gears and use the Dove of Hope stamp set with beautiful greetings and images along with the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper.

On the inside of the card, I used one side of Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper, and on the outside, I used the other side of the same paper.

That's one of the many things I love about Stampin' Up! — Many times they take the guess work out of designing by having the opposite side of the paper coordinate well with the original side. Add the coordinating card stock and ink and you have all you need to complete a project.

I loved making this fun fold, managed to deplete my DSP just a tad, and ended up with some beautiful cards to mail soon.

I also met another "friend" today when I contacted Demonstrator Claire Ottawa and asked her if it was ok to use her design and share the .pdf I created with all of you. She was honored and thanked me for asking and for providing the .pdf for her to share. You're welcome to download the file below and make one putting your own spin on it.

Hope you enjoy!

These two cards are gorgeous, Kim! I love both the DSP packs you used and who doesn't need to use some of their stash? What a great find you made by scrolling through Facebook. I may be CASEing this design if you don't mind. I like that it is different with the extra fold and the belly band. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

Wow! First I'm jealous you have so much DSP. How you used it is gorgeous. Stunning. You can't get more wow than the plush poinsettia vellum and the belly band with the poinsettia on it. Beautiful! Who wouldn't want to receive that card in the mail? SU knocks it out of the park with their color combo's and designs of the DSP, right? I love the Feels Like Frost paper! It made such a pretty card. It's so fun to see your designs. SU demonstrators are the best. Thanks for sharing.
